Terms of Service
1. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
2. Scope of service and confirmation
A transport engagement begins when we confirm a quotation in writing (email) for a defined lane, load and schedule. Changes to the load or schedule must be agreed in writing; changes may affect the quoted € rate.
3. Payment terms
All rates are quoted in euros (€). Unless account terms are agreed in writing, invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date. Confirmed quotations are invoiced after completion of the leg; account customers are invoiced monthly. We do not offer an online checkout.
4. Delivery and risk
Risk in the goods passes in accordance with the CMR consignment note. Delivery times are estimates given in good faith; we provide transit plans in writing and notify you promptly of any material change.
5. Cancellation and changes
Cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled collection may incur reasonable costs already incurred (vehicle allocation, ferry/tunnel bookings). Recurring lanes may be paused by written notice with at least 7 days’ lead time.
6. Liability
Our liability for loss of or damage to goods is subject to the CMR Convention limits (and, where applicable, the Carriage of Goods by Road Act 1965). Claims must be notified in writing at delivery or within 7 days for non-apparent damage.
7. Complaints and disputes
Complaints go first to your shipment coordinator or support@ssmtrans.com; we acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve within 14 days. Unresolved disputes follow the jurisdiction in clause 1.
8. Privacy
Data handling is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
